Hotel Blackhawk Wedding Reception, Davenport, IA
We’re bringing in the New Year with our clients, Luke and Charlene, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline with a reception to follow at Hotel Blackhawk in Davenport, Iowa!
New Year’s Eve is a time for reflection on the year past. It is also a time for resolution and celebration! Luke and Charlene decided this would be the opportune day to commemorate their love and begin their lives together as husband and wife. With a fresh blanket of snow and a blistery chill in the air, the excitement commenced! The girls were well prepared with elegant, midnight gowns and luxurious fur coats. The guys were unfazed as well, wearing multiple layers of a shirt, vest, jacket, and a snazzy gold kerchief. The themed colors of the day certainly formed quite the festive mood, with deep blacks, glitzy golds and silvers, and rich reds.
Following the ceremony, the gang suited up and headed to John Deer Commons in downtown Moline. It was here that Luke and Charlene braved the cold, although I’m sure they didn’t mind huddling together for warmth.
We retreated to Hotel Blackhawk and photographed some great, mafioso-style scenes with the bridal party. After thawing, our newly weds were able to share each other’s company for a few peaceful moments, where we captured some lovely interaction between the two.
Onto the celebration! Although we didn’t stay until midnight for the grand countdown, there was no shortage of festivities from the very start. Sticking with the New Year’s, Great Gatsby-like theme, the decorations for the reception were spectacular! Excellent job, Tamara Wendt Design! Live music was provided by Highway 99
Congratulations, Luke and Charlene. What a great wedding to kick off 2014!
