St Patrick of Merna Wedding With Tented Reception
We conclude the month of May with Jeff and Becky’s beautiful, backyard reception with a ceremony at St. Patrick Church of Merna. Our couple accented their wedding with colors of pink and mint, accompanied by peonies and succulents. These were lovely additions to a spring/summer wedding. Becky chose to honor her mother’s classy taste by wearing her wedding dress. She had it restored as if it were brand new! And that veil! A long flowing veil seems to add another element to picture taking. I recommend it, especially if you’re having your photos taken outdoors. It adds a touch of ‘softness’ and looks beautiful when caught by the wind. After the ceremony everyone took a short 20 minute drive out to an old farm house near the historic site of Funk’s Grove. A gorgeous rural IL setting situated in between corn and bean fields and near a small creek. The driveway to this lovely home was lined with these beautiful majestic pine trees and the tent for the reception was set up in the back yard. Spring peionies were in full bloom in the back yard, reminded me of my grandparents home. Yard games and an old fashion tire swing were set up for the guests to play with. All of this made for an incredibly relaxed and fun filled evening. Catering was provided by L A Gourmet and everyone was raving about the food! Some wonderful speeches by Becky’s sisters revealed the closeness and humorous side of their family. Wonderful wedding guys and we wish you all the best in the days and years ahead!
