Ewing Mansion Winter Engagement Session
Dan’s family has been farming here for seven generations! So needless to say I was excited to be invited to photograph Jessica and Dan’s engagement session on his family’s farm. The trick, trying to time things between our three schedules and when there would be snow on the ground. Jessica and I have been exchanging messages for weeks but everything finally fell into place over the past weekend and we were able to work it in on Monday. It wasn’t a huge amount of snow but enough for our purposes. This winter has been one of those rare Central Illinois winters where snow has been scarce. We had to act fast because this snow would only last two or three days. As I’m writing this on Friday of the same week, it is now 63º. Yesterday it was 45. So the window was small. When you think about it, it’s really quite amazing how much snow changes the appearance of a landscape, especially a rural one.
I don’t know how many girls would be brave enough to put on red heels and tackle the snow but Jessica did, like a trooper! After an clothing change, a snow fight, red noses and cold fingers we had what we needed for a successful photo shoot. Get job guys, it was a blast working with you. I can;t wait until your wedding. They have planned an early fall wedding and reception at the Barn at Hornbaker Gardens. It looks like a fantastic location!
Congrats on your engagement!
